Official Predictions

Postby Eric » Wed Aug 31, 2011 11:20 pm

Okay, I don't think we've gone on record for our end-of-season picks. I'll just give my BCS scenario, national champ, and Heisman winner.

BCS
-----

Orange Bowl: Florida State (11-2, ACC) vs. West Virginia (9-3, Big East)
Fiesta Bowl: Notre Dame (10-2, at-large) vs. Mississippi State (10-2, at-large)
Rose Bowl: Oregon (11-1, at-large) vs. Wisconsin (11-2, B1G)
Sugar Bowl: Alabama (11-2, SEC) vs. Boise State (11-1, at-large)
BCS Championship: Oklahoma (13-0, Big 12) vs. Stanford (13-0, Pac-12)

Heisman: Andrew Luck
Champion: Oklahoma
Running bowl/MSU/OSU record '05-present: 11-32

I agree with you on Orange, Rose, and Sugar. I think it will be OU vs Arkansas in BCS Championship (that's my heart talking there but this year it is actually possible), and Fiesta (of course Miss State can not be there if I have Bama and Ark both in BCS games...not sure who I would put in their place). I do think ND's schedule sets up for them to play in a BCS game. As for the Heisman: it will come down between Landry Jones and Tyler Wilson (if my scenario of the BCS NC game comes true...even if they do not deserve it over Luck, or Moore, etc). My champion: Arkansas
"A team with something to play for is dangerous, but a team with someone to play for is unstoppable..." Arkansas OL Brey Cook quote following the death of teammate Garrett Uekman (Nov. 2011).

Hey Vileborg!

You missed the Big East representative.

They do still hold an autobid.

Ok, so Big East has to take an At-Large.

Well the Big East doesn't have to go to the Orange Bowl. The Big East has to go to either the Sugar, Orange, or Fiesta.

Yeah, it didn't seem right so I went looking for more information and found out what your saying. They get an Automatic Birth through one of the At-Large Spots. Can the Big East go to the same bowl or does it have to rotate bowls?

No, you may actually be right; the only Bowl the Big East wont find themselves in, coincidentally, is the Rose . . . I take it back, the Fiesta might be where they end up.

Although, that is one conference I think is too close to call.

No real leaders . . . but then again, just saying there were, one may be infringing on some copyright claim ( look out, the Big Ten wants more money; lawyer up ).

Eric,

Whisky might want to sure up that run defense (that surprised me a good bit) or they might be bowling down at Madison Lanes!

Eric, I can see most of these picks. BUT Oklahoma continually disapppoints in the critical stages. I have no faith they will go undefeated or see the National Championship.

Every year they continually get hyped and nothing comes of it.

It's pretty frustrating.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Only frustrating if you like or pick them. Hellacious fun if you don't!

I think with their offense as good as it is, it's the real deal. I think with Texas down right now, the lone major challenge in their way is Florida State. Get past that and they can light up everybody else (the Big 12 doesn't play defense, which means this Oklahoma team will score 45+ points per game in conference).
