Upset alert: Utah St vs Auburn

Postby Dossenator » Sat Sep 03, 2011 1:47 pm

Utah State is beating Auburn at the half: 21-14.

Come on Utah State...I am loving this.

Auburn has had top 5 recruiting classes for the past 3 years or do and this is all they can muster.

Anyone watching Bama today? Stop the run and you can beat Bama.

I am not liking Utah State's run selection. It looks like they stole Don Nehlen's Prevent Offense play section!

There's your ballgame if this review stands. WWWOOOOOOOOWWWW.

Now hey, I don't want to brag, but I did say Utah State would contend for a bowl game this year. But I can't take credit for this

Fake FG call. Who doesn't love those?... when they work that is...

And they took a (deliberate?) delay game penalty first. This is evil genius here.

And there you go. 10 pt. lead with 4 minutes to play. Call this one. What was the line here anyway? (-24. Oh, man! Lock of the season.)

EDIT: Are you kidding me? Way to get sloppy, guys.

Game over. Man I don't know how you blow a 10 point lead in that amount of time.

Bah. What a horrid performance trying to finish the deal. Everything I hate about "Prevent" defense and its varying incarnations across all football leagues. It doesn't prevent anything except a winning team's ability to maintain the mindset that got them as close to victory as they are. Only on Gamecast though so I'm not certain if it was poor play calling or sloppy execution. Irritates the crap out of me either way. At least they beat the spread... not that I had anything on it.

This was the upset that was supposed to make up for TCU losing. Now the onus is on South Florida to come through. And Boise had better win...

I see it. After earlier today, I'm not getting excited unless their lead is more than two touchdowns with 3:59 or less in the game. Still, not a bad situation headed into the half. Three turnovers... though I'd kind of like to see a touchdown out of USF that isn't a 96 yard fumble return.

Here's an upset that .02% of the college football population predicted: Sacramento State just beat Oregon State

Beavers are in for a tough, tough year.

Actually OSU just missed a sub-30 yard field goal to win and are going into overtime 21-21.
