Is my recall off, or are we seeing a much better offering pretty much across the board?

It's been pretty good so far, I'll agree. The emergence of the MAC and Sun Belt to the point that they now have several teams capable of giving BCS teams a tough game is a pretty big factor in this. They aren't Saturday afternoon scrimmages anymore, where starters can be rested in the second half. Too bad that the Superconference stupidity is due to come about before they can gain from their years of hard work to reach this point...


And I'll add this here for lack of a better place... What in the name of 4th quarter collapses happened to Pitt?!

I'd say the non-conference games are more interesting. There has been a trend among the power schools (Tennessee, Ohio State, LSU, Oklahoma, Florida State, Notre Dame, etc.) to schedule more interesting and challenging games.

I'd also like to point out that I don't know how C-USA is getting all of these quality home games. Oklahoma State @ Tulsa (I know it is a rivalry game, but still), Va Tech @ ECU, Boston College @ UCF, Mississippi State @ Memphis, Virginia Tech @ Marshall, North Carolina @ ECU, UCLA @ Houston, Purdue @ Rice, and Syracuse @ Tulane. That's a pretty good slate of games, and I've always thought that if the non-BCS teams got more opportunities at home that the record disparity wouldn't be quite as glaring.

At 3:30 on ABC, CBS, and NBC are Texas vs UCLA - Florida vs Tenn and ND vs Mich St. I have all three on and going back and forth to Nebr vs Washington.

Pretty much makes your point.

Yeah Razor, it is usually week 5 or 6 before you have to get into Sports Bar mode ain't it.
