Coaches on the Market

It's a little early to speculate about coaching changes, but there are a couple sure-fire jobs that will be open next year. Florida Atlantic, Tulane, and New Mexico will all have openings. That much is confirmed.

I think this is the year Mike Leach comes back out of the shadows. I think any one of these schools would be a good fit for him unless he wants to wait out for a BCS school. I don't know if a larger institution will want to take a chance on him. Rich Rodriguez, I believe, was only planning on taking a year off, but he is currently doing analyst work for CBS College Sports. Maybe he's comfortable doing that where he doesn't have to deal with any scrutiny. I wonder if Tulane kept Bob Toledo for one more year knowing that Rodriguez would be off the market for 2011. It would be a homecoming of sorts, so who knows.

Ohio State is going to be open. Luke Fickell may end up with the job, but as of today he is an interim coach.

Good point. Somehow I forgot about Arizona as well. Leach could very well end up there.

Unfortunately, Ole Miss will probably have an opening.

I would love to see Nutt there for eternity, as they deserve each other, unless somehow he could get the job at Texas or Notre Dame.

Purdue, I believe will have a vacancy. Going from 42,000 season ticketholders from 4 years ago to 28,000 this year is monstrous. This is for a program that used to sell out 70000 in the late 60's earl 70's.

That is crazy, get your CV in now. Razorhawk will give you a glowing reference as to your ability to burn the midnight oil!

Wisconsin and Russell Wilson losing and NC State winning on the same day may take some heat off of Tom O'Brien but I doubt it. If he survives this year he better may big strides next year or he is out. The tarheels will be looking for someone to guide them through their probationary years as their date with the NCAA is coming up shortly.

Washington State, I would think, will be open.
