For the PAC ?? this game does not have much importance and certainly not to the rest of the nation. But it is interesting from other perspective. Oregon State is a terrible team. Utah is a terrible team. The difference is, Oregon State knows they are not very good. What this may show, is bringing Inter-mountain West teams of Utah and Colorado into the Pac 12 aka PAC 10 and aka Pac 8 may not have been the wisest move. The PAC10, dominated as of late by USC is a conference that rides the roller coaster. Every team has had there moments of glory, even Washington State won the Rose Bowl in 2003.
I hope Oregon State wins. I like the Coach Riley. He does not seem to prepare his teams very well for early games, but he is a stand up guy. (I also hope Washington State beats Oregon today...where is Fluiddude when you need him?)
Actually, just a reminder that some from of football is being played today on the West Coast...now that most coveted championship in sports has moved to the midwest.

Re: Oregon State V Utah
I think a lot of people are pointing to Utah's move to the Pac-12 as evidence that they aren't (or haven't been) a good enough program to hang with this level of competition. I think it's an unfortunate timing of events. They have been pretty competitive in their losses, but for the most part, this is a rebuilding year for the Utes. I only expect their players to get better and faster and stronger now that they are part of the BCS.
People would say the same about TCU if they had moved to the Big East this year; odds are, they wouldn't win it because they are rebuilding at some key positions. 2012 for TCU will be a big year. Now of course, we know for an absolute fact that Boise State could not beat an entire slate of BCS schools based off of pure speculation

We may know that, and we do, but we certainly do not have to believe it...or write it here in public or on the rest room walls for all to see. Is nothing sacred?

I think we were all fairly wrong on Oregon State. I picked them as a "sleeper". I was wrong.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.
The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.
See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Your were right, they are a sleeper...just the definition was not quite correct.

I thought they were both bad teams....just was not cognizant of how bad OSU is.
