Futile to Compete with SEC

It is futile to compete with the $EC. The Auburn site has announced they are hiring FSU's DC as their new DC. Mark Stoops has done a great job bringing a #109 ranked defense to a #6 ranked defense. In his second year.

FSU pays Mark $400,000. The Auburn site reports a $ 1.1 to 1.3 million offer. Now, when coordinators are paid millions, the TV contracts are starting to weigh in.

I do not expect FSU to try to match that offer...

And left to make about 1/2 million a year less at Arkansas State.

Something fishy there...and the DC left Auburn to be the DC at Central Florida (I would assume he took a pay cut as well). And Michael Dyer is suspended indefinitely. Something is going on in Auburn. Do you think the NCAA is getting ready to come down on them for something? Who knows?

He is hoping to qualify for Earned Income Credit, steaks for the dog, and an Obama phone.

Again, don't really know how, but somebody has got to do something about these salaries! Way out of hand, they are making this money from indentured servitude! Relative to value added measures, coaching salaries are worse than inflated CEO salaries.

Huh? Mark Stoops just told a recruit that he was staying at FSU (according to recruit tweet)....I don't know how much confidence that I have in that (see Urban and others).

But, then again, I think that the next job that Stoops will take will be a HC position...

This morning's paper announces that Stoops has turned down Auburn...

Turning down an offer of almost three times your current salary would not make sense..so reading further I see that FSU has said that they will negotiate a raise for Stoops.

Well now...FSU says that they will indeed negotiate with Mark Stoops regarding his salary....when he completes his current contract.

I expect Mark to put up a great defense next year and then move on to a HC position.

They almost have too. The bar has been set already.
