Week 3 Top 25 Upset Alerts

Postby Vileborg » Mon Sep 10, 2012 10:26 pm

I like huffing ether.

Major Upsets

None

Could Happens

Utah over BYU

North Carolina over Louisville

Tennessee over Florida

Utah and Tennessee wouldn't surprise me. North Carolina has played strong even in their loss so I think that game will be tight.

Crazy Calls

Wisconsin over Utah St.

The irony was good enough to call it a crazy call.

How about 1-0 ULM over 0-2 Auburn? I know the lighting in the bottle for ULM will not strike twice. But I will be pulling for them to beat Auburn.

Well it is hard to get the same things to align...but they don't need to, at least I don't think. Ark is probably 20-24 points better than Auburn. But Auburn's starter has many of the same foibles as the back up who came in for Ark. If they stop Auburn early, they will stop them often. As for scoring, ULM will find away if the 1st part holds. I would say ULM by 6. But Auburn should have an edge this week in practice given the 0-2 and seeing ULM coming. Big advantages over the Ark situation. And the ULM-Ark game was rough with hard licks all around, given the Ark injuries, I'd think ULM is plenty banged up and not as use to it with likely a less talented and less equipped training staff. Auburn +14.

Florida is huring in the secondary with two starters going out with injuries last game...put that together with the Vol's QB play, and I kind of wished that I had picked Tennessee.

Pretty sure no ULM players were injured in the game vs Arkansas. ARk had to carry 4 players off the field and 2 were in the hospital by the 3rd quarter. 2 of the 4 hits Tyler Wilson took were cheap shots directed at his head. On one play, after the ULM player head hunted Tyler Wilson he got up, leaned over Wilson, and dance around him taunting him....no flag of course (with a ref standing right by them).

There were also two plays where Ark running backs were 2-4 yards out of bounds and were leveled by defenders, and no flag. Ark tackled a ULM receiver that was one step out of bounds and got a flag (gave him a shoulder check). Yes a flag should have been thrown but why no flag when ULM did the same (or worse). Same thing happened in week 1 vs Jacksonville State. Ark received two flags for hits out of bounds...and Jack State received none (they should have received at least 2 for late hits). I just don't get it.

I think Tenn is gonna take this one too.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Doss, didn't mean injured...very sore, banged up, and bruised. These can have an effect on practices, when it runs above the average.

Vileborg and Derek, Tennessee could blast Florida this Saturday. Two touchdowns, at least. The Vols will be too vertical for the Gators on this day.

Potential "quasi-upsets":
Northern Iowa over Iowa
Rice over Louisiana Tech

The honeymoon is likely over for ULM at Auburn. SEC defensive speed for Auburn (which will result in most of the Tigers' points) brings things down to earth for the Warhawks.

Realized that after I posted.

I am very concerned about Texas @ Ole Miss. That place is going to be very hostile territory, Texas is very young and prone to mental errors. As much as I hate hearing about the SEC, they know how to play football, and Ole Miss is prone to be awful 90% of the season, and ridiculously good once a year.

If Texas is focused on Ole Miss there shouldn't be any problems. I'd say Texas by 14+.

They do that sometimes....Remember they gave FL their loss in 2008 (I think it was)

I say Texas wins by 21 points.
