I agree. Think this is very justifiable, especially in the lower rankings, which is always kind of a crap shoot.

I would have liked A&M higher, but yeah, I thought it looked pretty.good.

Honestly - I'm a bit surprised by this final poll.

Ohio State should be higher than 7th
Florida at #8 is too high after being blown out by Louisville
UCLA doesn't belong at all.
Not sure Michigan should be there either and Baylor is a bit of a reach.
I can certainly live with the rest, for the most part. I think there are better arguments to be made for the inclusion of Tulsa and CIncinnati and I tried to make them with my ballot.

But those are just my opinions.

I'm guilty of contributing to all of the above minus Ohio State (I assume this is because they aren't included in a poll or two). I still had Florida higher than Louisville because Louisville has a blowout loss to Syracuse and a loss to 5-7 UConn on their resume and four quality wins (Cincy, Rutgers, North Carolina, Florida). Florida has two losses one to Georgia where they were literally a couple yards away from winning that game and they have victories over LSU, Florida State, Texas A&M, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt. I think their resume is too strong to be overlooked whereas Louisville's two bad losses still have to be taken into account. I think it's justifiable if you want to take the entire season into account.

I forgave UCLA for their last three games because they still have some quality wins and most teams would lose to Stanford twice if they had to play Stanford back to back. And again with Michigan, I've been pretty forgiving with regards to their resume as well. The Nebraska game was only lost because Robinson got knocked out early and Gardner hadn't practiced at QB since 2011 (not saying that they wouldn't have lost, but we'll never know). If you factor Russell Bellomy being horrendous into the equation, they lost three regular season games to Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Alabama, teams with a combined two losses. And the South Carolina game was a virtual draw, so I'm not going to punish them too harshly for that. I realize Northwestern and Michigan State are the two best victories on the slate, but outside of facing elite teams, there weren't a lot of opportunities to get wins against evenly matched teams outside of the top 10. I asked myself if I could put Utah State or San Jose State or Tulsa ahead of Michigan, which implies that those teams could do better than 8-5 against that schedule. I doubt they would.

I had Baylor very high because they went nuclear during the last month of the season. If you go back and look at the quality of losses, they aren't that bad either. Iowa State was probably their worst defeat of the year. Their defense got much better (relatively speaking) as the year went on. They beat Kansas State, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, and UCLA to close out the year, two of those games being complete blowouts and the Oklahoma State game wasn't as close as the score indicated.

Ohio State didn't finish high because some thought they didn't belong in the poll suspended. I happen to agree with that argument. If I voted they wouldn't have been in my poll either.

I agree with you on UCLA. I would have included Michigan. They hung tough on South Carolina, but blew it in the end. I figure the fit somewhere near the bottom of the poll. I agree on Florida too.
