In my poll I have FSU ahead of Clemson. The reasoning, I guess, isn't head-to-head, but where they were in the polls before they won/lost. FSU was 9 last week and now they drop 9 spots and Clemson was unranked. I had kind of the same deal. FSU was in my top 10 but they lost and dropped 9 spots or something. I had Clemson unranked.

I could see holding Florida St. above Clemson if Florida St. had really played well up until now, but I don't see how Florida St. remains above Clemson in this case.

It is situations just like this that I think that there should be no polls for the first 3 to 5 weeks of the season. College teams have so much turn over from year to year. No one really knows how good or bad a team is going to be until they play a few games. But tv would not like that idea. I think the pollster try to make sure that they make the match ups look as good as possible. TV stations want that #1 vs. #2, or #4 vs. #6, or #10 vs. #20, etc. They do not care if it is accurate because it makes the game seem important, and they believe they will have more viewers.

I agree that there is no way that F. State be ranked this early in the season over a team that beat them in their own home. If it was week 8 and it was the only loss that F. State had then I would say you can not drop them that much for just one loss. But it is just 3 weeks into the season.

Just my thoughts.
