Oregon Gets Slap On Wrist

The Ducks football program got a slap on the wrist. No real sanctions and seemingly will not affect the players or their schedule, including bowl games. Chip Kelly got a show cause order for three years which means he can not coach college football for that time without an appeal, which would seemingly be unlikely as he is now coaching the Eagles. As inconsistent as this punishment is, it appears to be reasonable to punish the perpetrator and not those not involved in the chicanery.

It shows how corrupt the NCAA is. If you benefactor also lines the pockets of the NCAA you get a pass. Kelly was caught cheating. He should get a lifetime show cause order.

I do not disagree with that....but at least you are punishing the guilty not the bystanders as with OSU and Penn State.

I don't have a problem with the punishment, except that Kelly can work in college again and the AD some of the staff still have jobs. I also think that the punishments should be consistent. Then again, there would be no punishments if you didn't do something wrong in the first place.

The big problem is that the NCAA is more corrupt than the schools. I think they may moonlight for the IRS.

I don't think Kelly will last long in the NFL. His offense relies to much on exploiting major weaknesses in the defense and most NFL teams have the speed and skill to handle it. If he is back in college in three years, it is wrong.
