Tim Abromaitis thanked Mike Brey for giving him his first career start by scoring 31 points to lead the Fighting Irish passed the UCF Knights 90-72. The first half was more competitive than the second as the teams when into halftime tied at 41. Luke Harangody scored 29 for Notre Dame. Point guard Tony Jackson sprained his ankle in the second half, but he could be back for Notre Dame's next game.
A.J. Rompza had 13 points, 5 steals, and 2 assists for UCF. A.J. Tyler chipped in with 13 points and 5 rebounds in the losing effort.
