Sophomore Kodi Maduka posted a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Tulsa Golden Hurricane to a 68-62 win over the Mercer Bears. The game began at a hectic pace, but there was only one bucket from the field scored in the last 6:17 of the first half as Tulsa took a 34-27 lead into the half. Mercer had a brief lead in the second half, but a Scottie Haralson 3-pointer put the Golden Hurricane up to stay 54-53 with 4:54 left in the game. Along with Maduka's effort, Eric MCClellan helped Tulsa off the bench by scoring 14 points and dishing out 2 assists. Jakob Gollon lead the way for Mercer with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Travis Smith also chipped in with 11 points in the losing effort for Mercer.
Neither team shot well from the free throw line as Tulsa was 20-34 (58.8%) and Mercer was 8-15 (53.3%). The Golden Hurricane outrebounded the Bears 41-28 in the game.
