Eleven players scored for the Vermont Catamounts as they defeated the winless Binghamton Bearcats 73-53. The Bearcats are now 0-4 in the America East and 0-16 overall. Vermont was up in the 26-9 with 7:34 remaining in the first half. At that time, freshman Ben Dickinson accounted for all 9 of Binghamton's points. A Bearcat other than Dickinson did not score from the field until Taylor Johnston scored with 5:06 left in the first half. Vermont led 35-19 at the half, but the Bearcats went on a 11-3 run in just the first 2:36 of the second half. Vermont immediately went on a run of their own and then cancelled out another Binghamton spurt to come away with the easy win.
Sophomore Clancy Rugg set a career high by scoring 18 points in 19 minutes of play. Both Four McGlynn and Matt Glass contributed 12 points to the Catamounts' win. For the game, Vermont (9-9, 3-1) shot 52.8% (28-53) from the field and 35.7% (5-14) from beyond the arc. Dickinson finished with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting for Binghamton. Robert Mansell registered 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists in the losing effort for the Bearcats.
