Long weekend for UL Basketball

Well, after a mild loss to UK (fans are upset) the team dismissed Chane Behannen for the 4th and I suspect final time for the usual unspecified rule violations.

He certain reminds one of Derrick Character.

Well, good luck to him elsewhere. This season does not look as good as a throught so far; but, there is lots of time until the tournament for them to gel better.

Lots of talent coming in for next year too.

I can't judge yet; but, if we played against the old Big East this year we'd be in for a bunch of losses.

A bit more than halfway through this season, UL is now with 3 losses and has shown weakness against teams with long reach players. Mango is not Gorgui. I suspect they will be better defensively at the end of the season but I think the odds against a final 4 appearance are great.

UL played a c+ game tonight and beat UCF who is terrible. However, atrocious ball handling and poor foul shooting dogged UL the whole game. Senior Russ Smith turned back into sophomore Russdiculous in his offense and did little defense at all. Dead eye Luke Hancock was only so-so and actually fouled out.

UCF did play over their normal stats in shooting % and way over their average in free throws which made the game closer than it should have been at times.

This deep in the season, their performance does not look like a deep trip in the tourney.
