Idaho State defeated Sacramento State 52-51 in a game where both teams combined for 37.1% field goal shooting (39-105). In a game that was basically boring to watch, the controversial ending provided one of the few sparks in the game. Idaho State was up 50-48 with 32 seconds left. Sacramento State was running down the clock in preparation for the final shot when Vinnie McGhee, Jr. was called for a phantom travelling call with 5.6 seconds left. Donnie Carson was fouled and made the two free throws. Mcghee made a three-pointer at the buzzer to conclude the scoring.
With the victory, Idaho State clinched a spot in the Big Sky Tournament that only takes 6 of the 9 teams. Sacramento State dropped to 2-13 in the conference and 4-22 overall.

It was senior night at Montana State Saturday night, but it did not go the Bobcats way as Northern Colorado defeated Montana State 91-79. For the second game in a row, Montana State could not get defensive stops. Northern Colorado shot .650 from the field inclduing 4 of 8 from 3-point range. The Bears also made 39 of 55 free throws. Northern Colorado was led by freshman Devon Beitzel with 17 points and sophmore Neal Kingman with 16 points.
Northern Colorado's season is over. Montana State travels to Weber State in the Big Sky Tournament as the sixth-seed on Saturday. As hot as Portland State is, it seems obvious who will win the tournament and the automatic bid, but you never know what upsets will occur.
