Pepperdine Coach Quits

Last Thursday, Vance Walberg resigned as basketball coach citing personal and family reasons. Eric Bridgeland was named interim coach. The Waves were 14-35 under Walberg. John Watson, the athletic director at Pepperdine, admitted that Pepperdine had committed minor recruiting violations under Walberg. The coaching staff had gone over the number of days allocated to contact a recruit. According to Watson, that incident did not play a part in Walberg's resignation.
