Hogs destroy Alcorn State...and R. Clarke sets new record

Postby Dossenator » Fri Nov 13, 2009 11:16 pm

Well, Hogs beat Alcorn State 130-68. Score at half time was 71-26.

All of this with the Hogs only dressing 8 players (only 6 scholarship players suited up). 7 players have been suspended for various reasons....a couple are starters (rape chargers on three....charges dropped, DUI's, breaking team policies, etc). The 8 players that dressed were great.

Several Records set...some team records and 1 SEC record fell:
Guard Rotnei Clarke sets a new Arkansas and SEC record previously held by Al Dillard for most 3's in a game. R. Clarke hit 13 3 pointers (only 2 off of the all time NCAA record), he was 8-9 from the free throw line, and finished with 51 points. The 51 points is a single game Arkansas record. The 130 points set a record for Arkansas for most points ever in an opener.

Up next Louisville...in St. Louis I believe. I also think the Hogs will only have 8 players in this game...could be a long game for the Hogs.
"A team with something to play for is dangerous, but a team with someone to play for is unstoppable..." Arkansas OL Brey Cook quote following the death of teammate Garrett Uekman (Nov. 2011).
