It has been a while since I watched a small conference team beat a major conference team, and I thought I was going to see tone tonight. However, Providence overcame a 40-36 halftime deficit to defeat Yale 87-78. Providence struggled defensively in the first half and decided to bench Sharaud Curry in favor of Vincent Council. Council responded with 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. Jamine Peterson exploded in the second half to finish with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Alex Zampier had 15 first-half points and ended with 25 points and 7 rebounds.
