With 4.5 seconds remaining, South Alabama's Allyn Cooks took the ball the length of the court and made a circus shot driving to the basket to allow USA to defeat Troy 69-67. Just previous to Cooks' winner, Michael Vogler made a 3-point shot to tie the game at 67.
Troy was winning 62-55, but a technical foul call on Troy's Antywan Jones changed the momentum of the game. South Alabama struggled on the boards, allowing Troy 17 offensive rebounds. With the win, Ronnie Arrow becomes South Alabama's all-time winningest head coach.
