Wichita State had not done well on the road this year, but tonight, the Shockers defeated the Salukis 55-54. Before tonight, the Shockers had not won at Southern Illinois in eleven years. Southern Illinois had a chance to win after strong free throw shooter Clevin Hannah missed the front end of a one-and-one, but the Salukis could not score on its last possession. Graham Hatch had 13 points and 5 rebounds for the Shockers while seven-footer Garrett Shultz scored 12 points and grabbed 7 boards. Gene Teague had 12 points and 7 rebounds, and Kevin Dillard tallied 10 points, 2 rebounds, and 7 assists for SIU.
