George Washington-Alabama-Birmingham

Postby BYUfan1 » Mon Dec 27, 2010 11:43 pm

UAB played tough defense throughout to overcome a slow start and defeat George Washington 79-44. The Colonials shot poorly everywhere, shooting 33.3% percent from the field (18-54), 18.8% from 3-point range (3-16) and 35.7% from the free-throw line (5-14). George Washington had nobody score in double figures as the team scored 22 points in each half.

Guard Jamarr Sanders led the Blazers in scoring with 23 points. Aaron Johnson dished out 12 assists while only scoring 3 points. Tonight's game marked the fifth time this season that Johnson had 10 or more assists in a game. Dexter Fields came off the bench to make 5-of-9 3-pointers and score 17 points in the contest. UAB is now 10-2 as George Washington falls to 5-6.
