In a game marred by fouls, Texas State defeated Texas-Pan American 82-70. The Texas State Bobcats road a 17-point first half performance (19 points, 6 rebounds for the game) by Cameron Johnson to a 45-26 halftime advantage. The Broncs jumped on Texas State early in the second half, and the score was eventually tied at 64 with 6:27 left. However, foul trouble derailed Texas-Pan American as three players fouled out. There were a combined 61 fouls called in the game.
For the Bobcats, Matt Staff had 11 points and 7 rebounds while Ryan White contributed 13 points and 4 rebounds. For the Broncs, forward Matt Mierzycki had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Brandon Provost had 17 points, and guard Perry Petty scored 13 points before fouling out. Texas State is now 5-9, while Texas-Pan American falls to 3-14.
