The Xavier Musketeers foiled St. Bonaventure's attempt at an upset with a strong second half to defeat the Bonnies 79-65 in Olean, New York. The Bonnies got off to a 14-3 start and led by as much as 12 points before settling for a 35-30 halftime lead. Tu Holloway scored all of his 22 points to lead the comeback for Xavier. Jeff Robinson provided a spark off the bench with 12 points. Xavier outscored St. Bonaventure 36-14 in the paint and outrebounded them 31-17. The Bonnies had no chance of winning once Andrew Nicholson, the leading scorer in the Atlantic 10, fouled out with a little over seven minutes remaining in the game. Ogo Adegboye had 16 points for the Bonnies, but Nicholson only scored 13.
