San Diego-BYU

Postby BYUfan1 » Tue Jan 17, 2012 3:31 pm

Four players scored in double figures for Brigham Young as the Cougars defeated the San Diego Toreros 82-63. San Diego was determined to take forwards Brandon Davies and Noah Hartsock out of the game early as the Cougars made just one of their first nine and shots and trailed in the game 9-2. The three leading scorers the Cougars were all guards as Brock Zylstra made 5 of his 8 shots attempts from beyond the arc on his way to scoring 17 points. Senior Charles Abouo and UCLA transfer Matt Carlino both had 14 points and 7 rebounds for BYU. The Cougars outrebounded San Diego 46-28. Davies did manage a double-double by registering 12 points and 12 boards. Dennis Kramer had 15 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 steals for the Toreros. BYU is now 5-1 in the WCC and 16-4 overall as San Diego drops to 1-4 in the conference and 6-11 overall.
