Yes, it is that time again. It is Hockey Day in Michigan. Among other games that are happening, Michigan State plays Michigan.

Go Spartans! Put the Wolverines on ice!

Boooo Spartans! :x

I'm taking MSU though.

You're a hockey fan huh? Me too. I'm a pretty big fan, I follow the CCHA somewhat but hockey is one of those sports where the pros have a better version, in my opinion. If I'm not watching a team from Michigan (LSSU, MSU, Michigan, Western, Ferris), then it's not really that exciting to me.

The NHL is different. I've been losing interest this season though because not as cool as it was in the 90's and the pre-strike era. Was that good hockey back then or what? People cared about the NHL back then :(

Do you have a connection to Michigan State? I noticed you talk about them from time to time.

College hockey

I don't see that much college hockey anymore. There are a few games on Fox College Sports that are on, mainly Minnesota and Wisconsin. Back when Paul Kariya played for Maine, I saw alot of games on tv because there is a network here, Sun Sports(Formerly sunshine network) that was just beginning and took programing from other networks. I use to see college soccer alot too. Bryan Smolinski and Anson Carter are MSU players I remember from back then.

I have no connection to MSU other than the fact I have been a MSU basketball fan ever since seeing Magic Johnson beat Larry Bird. It was the first college national championship basketball game that I remember seeing on tv, and I been hooked to MSU basketball ever since. I saw them live in St. Pete back in 1994 when they beat Seton Hall but lost to Duke in the NCAAs. Snow and Respert were the backcourt and Jud Heathcote was still the coach. It only made sense to root for them in hockey in the CCHA. My favorite Big 10 football team is Purdue, but I keep my eyes are what the Spartans are doing as well as Ohio State. I grew up watching Big 10 football since there was no Big East football when I lived in New Jersey.
