Not A Happy Day For Sports Fans

Bruce Synder, Mark "The Bird" Fidyrch, and Harry Kalas all die on the same day. Synder ,69, died following a 10-month bout with cancer. Synder is best remembered for his 1996 Arizona Sun Devils that finished fourth in the AP Poll. I rember him best for his years at Cal, turning their program around. I was not to happy when he left California saying he had a better chance of winning at Arizona State, but it's water under the bridge now.
Harry Kalas, 73, died today at the home stadium of the Washington Nationals getting ready for today's game. Kalas is a legend in Philadelphia and will be sorely missed. It certainly was great that the Phillies won the World Series again before he passed on.
Mark Fidyrch died at his farm in Northborough, Massachusetts apparently from a accident repairing a dump truck. Fidyrch will always be known for his 1976 season when he went 19-9 with a 2.34 ERA. No one could talk to a baseball like Fidyrch.
