I finally found some articles on genetic discoveries and turning genes on! I love hearing the different ways of hearing the news...the first article is more complete but avoids yielding what many geneticist stated upon the discovery...the genes were ALWAYS there. But they at least mention the genes are "switched" on.
Intro Paragraph...
"A new study shows that chickens, which don't have teeth, still have the genes that make them, and in special cases, those genes can be switched back on. Scientists now think that as animals evolve, they lose the ability to turn those genes on at the right time during development -- not the genes themselves"

The following is an article that still attempts use vague and "old" terms to keep the masses the right kind of ignorant and the right kind of impressed with scientific discovery. (Always what it can do for us humans...."send money soon" driven comments.)

Re: The Science Community
Another article...lacking general observations but hints at how many other "developmental signals" haven't been introduced in conjunction with the signaling of tooth development in birds to make a viable system change.

I shouldn't bore people here with this but the whole thing cracks me up! After years of indignant and malicious statements on how things happened...admissions, apologies, and retractions are being withheld with fervor.
