What a sad situation. I never watched his show but was well aware of him. It's too bad that he dealt with snakes and aligators his whole life, living on the edge, and the worst thing he could imagine happened. Sad story

I saw that this is only the second death ever caused by a stingray in Australia. How weird is it that one of the most knowledgeable people on earth for dealing with wild creatures is killed by something which is normally not deadly?

I'm actually in a state of mild shock and disbelief that Steve Irwin won't be around any longer. His daughter is quite a character and I bet that she will carry on his legacy. I fully expect his wife to do all she can, too, and the little boy to eventually follow in their footsteps.

It actually makes sense to methat something only mildly dangerous got him. He is a lot less careful with the things that aren't as dangeous. It is very sad.
