Ark RB Knile Davis

Postby Dossenator » Sun Nov 21, 2010 2:37 am

Arkansas RB Knile Davis (sophomore) has become a force to be reckoned with. The season started with RB Broderick Green as the starter. Game 5 Davis began to get more carries, and has exploded onto the scene. He passed 1,000 yards for the season tonight and is a TD machine....and has only been the undisputed starter for the past 5 games.

Knile Davis numbers:
First 4 games (limited action)
vs Tennessee Tech (6 car: 67 yards, 1 rec: 15 yards)
vs Louisiana Monroe (5 car: 19 yards)
vs Georgia (3 car: -7 yards, 1 TD)
vs Alabama (6 car: 42 yards, 2 rec: 14 yards)
Games 5 and 6(still sharing carries with Green and Wingo)
vs Texas A&M (10 car: 82 yards)
vs Auburn (14 car: 91 yards, 3 rec: 22 yards)
Games 7-10 (definite starter with bulk of carries)
vs Ole Miss (22 car: 176 yards, 2 rec: 19 yards, 3 TD's)
vs Vanderbilt (19 car: 82 yards, 3 rec: 42 yards, 2 TD's)
vs South Carolina (22 car: 110 yards, 1 rec: 5 yards, 3 TD's)
vs UTEP (11 car: 182 yards, 1 rec: 3 yards, 1 TD)
vs Mississippi State (30 car: 187 yards, 2 rec: 12 yards, 3 TD's)

So...last 5 games: 737 yards rushing, 81 yards receiving, and 12 TD's (that's a 7 yards a carry average).

Arkansas is a dangerous offense when both the running and passing games are clicking....and they have been for some time now.

Go Hogs beat LSU!

I should add...Knile's fumble at the end of regulation almost cost the Hogs the game against Miss State tonight. I am glad he was able to redeem himself with a TD in overtime.

It's kind of funny because a couple hours ago I was reading that the UFL (Cuban's competition for the NFL) has a rule that a fumble that goes out into the endzone with nobody recovering will have the team maintain possession at the spot of the fumble. That would have helped out Mississippi State tonight

Updated with LSU game.

Knile Davis numbers:
First 4 games (limited action)
vs Tennessee Tech (6 car: 67 yards, 1 rec: 15 yards)
vs Louisiana Monroe (5 car: 19 yards)
vs Georgia (3 car: -7 yards, 1 TD)
vs Alabama (6 car: 42 yards, 2 rec: 14 yards)
Games 5 and 6(still sharing carries with Green and Wingo)
vs Texas A&M (10 car: 82 yards)
vs Auburn (14 car: 91 yards, 3 rec: 22 yards)
Games 7-10 (definite starter with bulk of carries)
vs Ole Miss (22 car: 176 yards, 2 rec: 19 yards, 3 TD's)
vs Vanderbilt (19 car: 82 yards, 3 rec: 42 yards, 2 TD's)
vs South Carolina (22 car: 110 yards, 1 rec: 5 yards, 3 TD's)
vs UTEP (11 car: 182 yards, 1 rec: 3 yards, 1 TD)
vs Mississippi State (30 car: 187 yards, 2 rec: 12 yards, 3 TD's)
vs LSU (30 car: 152 yards, 1 TD)

Knile Davis year total numbers:
Year total: 178 car., 1183 yards, 14 TD's (13 rushing, 1 receiving)...averaging a whopping 6.6 yards a carry.

Most say South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore will be selected as the first team all SEC running back at the end of the year....but here is his numbers (I choose Knile Davis).

Marcus Lattimore year total numbers:
Year total: 232 car., 1114 yards, 19 TD's (17 rushing, 2 receiving)...averaging only 4.8 yards a carry.

Knile Davis has 69 more total yards on 54 fewer carries....Lattimore nudges him out slighty in TD's (however, Knile has only been the starter for a little over half the season).
