Coaches salaries
Found this from another forum. Always interesting reading. : http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/ ... 51242232/1
The preceding statements are solely the opinion of GoBoilers and are, therefore, probably not based whatsoever on fact, research or more time in thought than what was required to physically type them. They're probably correct anyway, so you shouldn't argue too much, because otherwise he'll just blather on forever. On the internet Al Gore invented.

Re: Coaches salaries
First, WVU got a deal for DH at $1.5M.
Now to the important stuff. Is everybody trying to tick me off today!?!?? These salaries like most things in sports are out of hand. But it appears that sports are in the same arena as alcohol...absolutely recession proof! Then there is sex and Hollywood...they ain't hurting either, or the drug industry. But these are the gods of the day.
Because I can't think of another mechanism of merit, the government should withhold 3 dollars of funding for every dollar paid to a University employee above the Congressional pay rate! And a person receiving monetary award outside of the University coffers has to pay gift tax on top of income tax for those funds clearly initialized pursuant to taking their University position.
And they should add excise taxes to sports tickets, movies, concerts, and fast food restaurants. (Since we are too moralistic to legalize recreational drugs
and prostitution.)

Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves.

Problem is I feel Congress is too highly compensated for what they do after they have stolen everyone's money!
