I was expecting more out of Pitt since Pitt was within 3 of Utah while playing out there in the west.

You know, I think that we pay a lot of attention to mistakes on offense when we watch a game and see them more than we see what is a dominating defense.

Miami dominated this game. There is no doubt. And it was defensive speed that dominated.

Offensively however. Miami's running game looked a little bit off. The Canes only rushed for 100 yards but Jacory's passing pulled them out. If Jacory had time, he was dangerous. Pitt was forced into using timed speed rushes and got caught offsides on some critical downs.

But...the game and the better team was never in doubt.

Pitt had its share of chances to keep this game close and even win it, but the QB for Pitt was awful and the team found numerous ways to shoot itself in the foot with stupid penalties, muffed punt, etc. I saw this game as the Panthers constantly shooting themselves in the foot.

My concern is; our defense played well... yet, our offense made too many mistakes... as usual.

And that is the key to it all; as usual.

Pitt's defense wasn't good enough to make the necessary plays when they needed it. So it made our offense look better than it really is.

However, we cannot get away with that in conference. A few mistakes as per the ones last night, and the `Canes will be playing come from behind ball, rather than, "let's see if we will be able to extend the lead without turning the ball over this time".

Pitt's offense wasn't good enough to force us into a tough fourth quarter... against some of our ACC opponents, I don't think we can get away with it.
