Disappointed Already . . .

Postby Cane from the Bend » Fri Aug 30, 2013 8:18 pm

Not because of the inability to pick up the 1rst, on 4th and one . . . rather, because of the offensive scheme in general.

I knew who was going to get the ball on every play, before the play had a chance to develop.
Other than the opening play of our drive . . . this game plan is way too predictable.

We may be able to get away with it against Florida Atlantic . . . but we're gonna struggle vs real competition.
Not a single decent play was unreadable . . . this could be a long season.

I think Golden may just want to get his guys touches and not show his hand. They do have a big game next week, I think giving Florida any leads would be a bad idea.

Honestly; I do not believe that is what happened at all.

I think the offense was not as productive as it could have been, early, when they had the opportunity to take advantage of field position.

I think if FAU were deeper on their roster, talent wise, then this game would have been much closer --- all of the busted coverage Miami had, a better team would have had a field day with those open receivers.

The defense is not up to par . . . we were still having trouble preventing yardage up the middle.

If a high quality offense gets that kind of opening, the `Canes will be in a dogfight.

A good team could force Miami into a defensive breakdown, which will see huge play after huge play.

This is not the team being sold to the people during the off season.

We need to fix something, bad. Or we get exposed next week.

I'm with Eric on this. You beat them, they were not a good team. If all the things were done, as you suggest, Cane, the score would have be 122 to 7. Not happening, so you get a lot of players in, get over first game jitters and take notes. You will see a different team come next week. This is one of the problems with scheduling a weak first game. A luxury that is not available to most teams trying to climb the ladder when their calling and election has not been assured because of their ......well....you know the speech...looking for a different song this season...but...anyway....good win for you.

An impressive final score . . . but not an impressive win.

I wasn't looking for a 50 point win (or 115) . . . but we couldn't produce early.

Whatever . . . at least we did not have the night Kansas State did.

That's Fantastic!

I'm gonna have my neighbor dress in gator gear, and film him saying just about this same thing . . . then send it to the `Cane camp via e-mail.

After watching that, I'm kinda glad that guy went home with his tail between his legs.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.
