BCS Rankings and Bowls...
#6, #7, #8, #9 all left out of BCS Bowls.
#11, #13, #15, and #23 all get BCS Bowls.

Re: BCS Rankings and Bowls...
I think this is the simple way to do this: Revoke the auto-bid for the Big East, hand out an auto-bid to the top rated non-AQ team (MWC, Big East, WAC, MAC, C-USA, Sun Belt), and let 3 at-larges from a single conference become eligible.
This year, it would look like this:
NC: Alabama vs. LSU
Orange: Clemson vs. Boise State
Sugar: Michigan vs. Arkansas
Rose: Oregon vs. Wisconsin
Fiesta: Oklahoma State vs. Stanford

They need to do away with the bcs altogether and install a 64 team play off and that would settle everything.
Then you would have a true National Champion.

That would solve everything!
I haven't been one of those types who have dogged the Big East constantly, but with everybody bolting, there's nothing left in the rubble.

I agree about the Big East not lasting. I was hoping for WV to the SEC over Missouri though.

Billy's theory of weak scheduling came through for Virginia Tech..
The OOC slate App State, East Carolina, Arkansas State, and Marshall. And their reward is a BCS game.
You get punished in the polls for trying to schedule top programs if you do not win the game. VT learned their lesson well from scheduling Alabama, LSU, and Boise in the past.
So...roll in App State, ECU, Ark State, and Marshall...

How long have we said this BB!?!???? If you are an AQ team...scheduling weak is the key that unlocks the door to the BCS.

I don't count Stanford in that. The Top 25 is a measuring stick...and USC measures up in quality.
The BCS (which is likely on the road to doing this) could stop a host of problems by ending AQ all together. When ever the AQ comes into play as it lets a lower ranked team be selected over a higher ranked team. And every time it has done this (that I can recall) it gets criticized. So it doesn't need adjustment it needs to be done away with. Voters already recognize conference strengths and SOS so it is an unnecessary addition!

Re: BCS Rankings and Bowls...
The fallacy of scheduling weak, and nobody has benefited from this more than Boise, to a point, is like so many schemed in college football it is theory based on convenience. When Boise schedules weak it is recognized by everyone, and quicker than the call of nature after a glass of prune juice, it is pointed out how the Boise's and Houston's and Ball State's have weak SOS's though that is not across the board true, and they are dropped from consideration from anything other than the also rans.
Let a VT, or any Eastern school schedule weak and all of the sudden they are in a tough conference and if A beat B who lost to g in overtime when H was pummeling D who seven years ago beat K who no is on probation for cheating...we let them in. And then we get all this silliness about statistics that just ramble on.
No bitter anymore, just don't give a darn.

Re: BCS Rankings and Bowls...
Boise State's formula isn't any different than the one for a BCS school. The real formula is a 50 to 60 SoS. Boise State needs to go out and schedule 2 or 3 good teams to do this, the BCS schools need to schedule 3 not-good teams.

December Madness. I'm all for it.
In fact, now is the time for playoff advocates to make their push. The common counter-argument that "the regular season is the playoff" just took a big hit.
