Sorry about that, collegefbfan8898:

If I had been on the board at the time I would have sent a link to you. I was stuck to the game.

Stanford needs some quick fixes. Their offense was inefficient. About as bad as Boise's was tonight. Except; Boise played Michigan State. And Stanford couldn't put away lowly San Jose St.

It was a fun game to watch, especially for a season opener . . . I suspect one of the best games of the opening week.

But, if I were a Stanford fan, I'd have major concerns going forward.

The passing game wasn't there. The running game was sparse, until the 4th quarter . . . even then they could keep the ball moving enough against San Jose's defense.

For a while there, San Jose had me believing they could do it.

Had The Cardinals been playing a conference team, they would have lost. Because they just kept giving the Spartans one more chance; punting the ball on fourth down . . . and they couldn't get enough yards to keep the clock moving.

They won't get away with that in pac play.

USC will own the conference this year

I think I mostly agree, although I believe pretty strongly that Oregon will challenge USC for the conference title. That being said, Stanford does have some work ahead of them. Although, coming into the season I really liked San Jose State relatively speaking (they ended 2011 on a high note and were competitive in 11 of 12 games). Since the WAC has such little firepower, I think they could be good enough to qualify for a bowl game.
