I think Winston is a done deal.

Makes me wonder why they invited all of these guys. I wouldn't remember which year it was, but it might have been last year with Manziel or Tebow's first nomination, but only three guys were invited. They were less of a sure-thing than Winston is.

Why is Manziel in the list??
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

In 2005 there were only 3 invited finalists ... Reggie Bush - Vince Young - Matt Leinart

It's an NCAA PR preemptive move.

A, now that we have had underclassmen win the Trophy, they cannot say we are discriminating, sort of thing.

First, with Tebow & Bradford winning as Sophomores.
Now, Manziel & Wintson doing it as Freshmen.

(though, in Braford's case, the winner that year should have been Colt McKoy ... Bradford only won because the Sooners went to the National title game, and the voters thought it would be a better story, to have the first two Sophomore Heisman winners play against one another for the Championship)

I seem to be paying less if any attention to this award.

I guess it's a part of college football lore, but there's hardly any drama leading up to the vote. There's always a general opinion and it always gets crystalized a couple weeks before the vote is over by the media. The last one that was remotely interesting was 2009.
