Happy New Year...On this subject I think what makes sense is go one way or another. Go back to regionalism a traditional bowls...use to be only four...but certainly to have bowls covering all conferences makes sense....or have a playoff and make it a real playoff. This hybrid stuff reminds me of the Affordable Healthcare Act.

The reason for bowl expansion, initially, was to get more crossover games between conferences that you would not normally get to see.

Going back to the old bowl system, with 3 bowls per conference 1rst 2cnd & 3rd place members, with an additional 2 or 3 for independent/at large, would be suffice ... and in a large part preferable across the country.

The want for a playoff is not nearly as widespread as the media would have us all believe.
Many people on internet stream chat site are ticked by the change.
