Super Bowl 50

Was a good reminder for me of the type of football I like to watch. The relentless defense of Denver and the good defense of Carolina. It also reminded me that a 26 year old quarterback is not a 39 year old mature man. We were all there...sometimes I think I may be drifting back.

It was a made for TV juxtaposition...brash youth against aged warrior, drop back passer agaiinst mobile dual threat quarterback...and as these stories sometimes play out....the script got hijacked by the defenses.

Enjoyed the game immensely and hope that Peyton retires while on top.

It is my favorite football too. I think most younger fans want 400 yards of offense and no defense. What we saw yesterday was a good game and neither team generated much offense. I still think if Philly Brown hadn't had the concussion, Carolina probably wins the game. I'm glad Manning got the 2nd Super win, but he is done. I hope he knows that. I think he does. When it is 3rd and 7 at your own 30 and the coaches call a running play, it says a lot about what they believe the QB can and can not do. He was a great QB and now he should retire.

I also found it humorous that Peyton gets credit for another Superbowl, but Devin Gardner might have won the game for Denver with the way their defense played. Manning has lost a ton of zip on his throws and he really has to float the ball into windows in order to be effective (and when he's off, he throws 4 picks in a game like he did earlier this year).

I agree that it's time for him to hang it up. Best QB in history, in my opinion.

They didn't give Payton a chance to lose the game. 3rd and 5 toward the end of the game and they took the ball out of his hands. That doesn't happen 6 years ago

Yeah, it's the same thing I said to my wife.

It's late in the 4th, on 3rd down & 11 yards, and you run the ball up the middle... you are playing not to make mistakes, leaving it up to the defense to win the game.

Usually a bad strategy, because that is giving your opponent more opportunities to find some sort of rhythm and score on you, then goes the momentum with it.

However, Denver's D was to stout for Carolina.

As for Peyton, I don't see anyone giving him credit for the Super Bowl. All I hear is, "If Manning decides this is his last rodeo then it would make a perfect ending to a storied career".

They did give him the credit for getting them into the game. But I'm not hearing any praise for his Super Bowl performance.

I'm not sure he deserved anymore credit than he got. He played ok. Only made a couple mistakes. He did his job, but was a long way from being a star in the game. To his credit he didn't act like he was the star of the game either. He handled the whole situation pretty well.
