Such a shame. The NCAA is a bunch of spineless cowards. CFB is going to be nothing but a bunch of schools buying teams and the rest eventually dismantling their programs, or even forming a new league. It HAS to come to that, there is no way it won't.

Thank you for the link, I forgot that site existed. I used to read it all the time.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

OH MY !!!!!! The Texakins ARE UH-PUSHIN’ BACK!!!!!!

Their uh-claimin’ they didn’t spend FORTY MILLION…….. “No where close…”, they say. And interestingly enough, it’s been reported, their figurin’ and cypherin’ don’t include the 6.6 million their quarterback gets from ‘Corporate Sponsors.

Anyway, it appears the guys down in Austin, the ones with the BIG HATS, are in the defensive and denial modus operandi…….. as an article I ran across and was going to post earlier this morning in response to Derek’s post, titled ‘How Texas Build A Powerful Roster’ or something like that, has vanished and disappeared costing me the opportunity to make my comment that ‘…… they didn’t ‘build it’ they ‘bought it’.

Not to let Ohio State off the hook for their 20 million dollar roster last year, but most of the money spent was to keep guys that were on the team from leaving to the NFL or another school. They did add some key pieces through the portal, though, including a QB. It was't the most spent by a school. I was thinking Oregon held that distinction. Here is sonething I know about teams, though, not matter the sport; if you build a team with mercenaries. Mercenaries rarely have a loyalty to the common goal only to themselves. Whenever you get your resolve tested you need players that will come together for a common goal. If the team doesn't come together, if fractures and breaks apart.

Spence illustrates the reality of the razor sharp double edged sword that College Sports has become…….. where you not only have to pay more than the other guys to get ‘em, you gotta pay more than the next round of guys that show up to keep ‘em .

I am not sure an executive order is what is needed. I think that the issue probably has to be legislated in congress along with other reforms of college sports.

It’s an attention getter and a start, gotta get these greedy and power hungry idiots slowed down and stopped before they do any more damage to College Athletics. And there’s nothing like a threat of losing Federal Funding…… as he did with the Ivy League with the on campus anti-semitism efforts going on, to get these school’s attention and provide motivation.

………. and yes, Federal Legislation and oversight is needed, especially now this bunch has demonstrated and proved they not only will not but cannot govern themselves.
