Louisville also lost a very good QB. As QB's go, so does a team.

Well they were going 6-6 with Brian Brohm at the helm under Kragthorpe.

Brohm was more hype than actual college talent..IMHO

TCU...head and shoulders the best team in a 700 mile radius...never thought that would be a true statement!

Louisville faded because they (or the athletic director if you prefer) made a bad hire when Petrino left :( . Kragthorpe just was NOT the guy  . AD Tom Jurich has said Charlie Strong was at the top of the list back then when Petrino left but he didn't contact him as Florida was involved in a bowl game, etc. I feel this is partly true; but, also he wanted a new coach to have a "full" recruiting year and that was why he went with Kragthorpe. Considering all the good Jurich has done for ALL the athletic programs at UL it is hard to think too negatively of his big mistake in hiring Kragthorpe.

However, seeing what coach Strong did with a partial recruiting year and now a full one, it is easy to look back and say Jurich should have hired him anyway over Kragthorpe. Didn't I just hear Kragthorpe ended up at some small school in Texas?

And, I think Petrino was the best (so far) coach; but, my bet is (IF HE STAYS) Charlie Strong will be a better coach/recruiter in the end. Only time will tell.

If TCU stays strong for years to come I am all for it :P . Obviously, the Big East officials, along with almost everyone else, think that conference shakeups will continue with bigger ones robbing the lesser; and, they are trying to strengthen their hand.

The next few years will be interesting, Swamp Daddy

but yet they play in New Year's Day bowl games along with a team like Michigan that isn't even good enough to retain their head coach while nationally ranked and 11-1 schools like Nevada and Boise State got much lesser-teir bowl assignments.

I say it every year but am I the only one that thinks there should be a bowl tie-in somewhere for a non-AQ school that falls somewhere between the BCS and a bowl game like the Poinsettia, Humanitarian, or Fight Hunger Bowl?

How about a tie-in that is simply for the top-ranked non-AQ conference school that failed to make the BCS in a New Years Day game like the Ticket City Bowl? There just seems to be too big of a gap between best bowl possible and 2nd best possible for the non-BCS conference schools.

I don't think I'll click on that link.

The wording of this post (almost english) makes me cautious about it maybe being an out of country lead in.

Spence..this from a US IP?

I try to make sure they are safe, but if they get posted before I see them, they could be malicious. This poster is from India so my guess is they will post something bad at some point. Best not to click on any link from anyone who is not a member. I let this one stay - atleast for a little while - but it is obvious that this one isn't a football fan. Also, just because the first link is good, that doesn't mean any other link on that site is good, so beware. I have no way of checking those without getting zapped myself, so I don't check those.
