Howdy Results Week 6

Postby RazorHawk » Sun Oct 09, 2011 9:31 am

Warriorsfan808 was 17-3 and finished in first place this week. Grayghost and GoBoilers were just one game back.

Warriorsfan808 also took over first place for the yearly totals by a slim one game, ahead of Razorhawk.

Again, thanks for everyone submitting their entry in the correct format, as it makes the updating very easy.

Still down in 12th place, but nice to have a good winning weekend for once. I guess I'll stick with the Blue picking my games...he seems to have a knack.

13-7 is an amazing mark for what I've been doing recently

This year has been one of the hardest for me to get a grasp on. I tend to think, "well, this would happen," and the exact opposite happens.

Double Ditto!

Thought the exact same about my 13-7 record. And I almost posted Thursday about not being able to get a hold of who's going to do what! Great for viewing, terrible for picking.
It isn't transitive where team A beat team B and team B beat team C...therefore A will beat C. That has never worked because of match-ups and styles along with other factors. But WOW, it hasn't ever been so far off that A over B by 20, B over C by 22, then C over A by 7. You can look and pretty much find that. One thing I feel is big in this is styles, there are just so many...and everything is so dynamic now...that momentum is a greater multiplier than ever.

But above all, one thing I know...I doth stinketh!

I should have known if I was having a decent week that it was an easier week. I think I have too many biases and I'm putting too much wishing into my picks.

It's stuff like VT's QB who showed up this week and played a masterful game. He's been good but never that good. 23-25 for 300+ yards is Newtonian.

Speaking of Newton, I refused to believe that he was good but he's pretty awesome. The stuff he's doing in the NFL has opened my prejudiced eyes.

Speaking of QB's cause I'm in a rambling man mode. Anybody see that Tebow freight train in Denver? Fun conversation, watching the paper addicts arguing with the gut feeling addicts. "He was 4-10, that's awful". The other side. "Yeah, but it's the IT factor." Tebow scores 14 points off a 4-10 performance in the second half against the chargers and almost wins them the game and the paper fanatics are screaming he's horrible. He may be horrible, but horrible and scoring is better than not.

I usually take who I am wishing to win, and pick the other team, as I never get a break.

I always pick my team. I find that if I pick them and they lose it is easier for me to take than if I pick against them and they win.

I'm going to quit picking the games with teams I really like and the ones I don't like at all. (I'll just take the consensus from warriorfan, Razor, and GoBoilers as my pick.)

Then I will hold off from making my picks until 11:59:59AM on Saturday. :D
