West Virginia Getting Their Tail Kicked

Postby Eric » Sat Oct 13, 2012 5:16 pm

35-7 with 17 seconds left to go in the first half. I got a feeling that West Virginia is going to come all the way back and win this thing. I'll eat crow if they don't, but Texas Tech is the kind of team that never pulls through when the situation gets tough.

This particular pollster: likely seven+ spots downward from last week. It makes WV's home game against K St even more interesting and extra important for the Mountaineers.

I might even go further than that. I was going along with the conventional wisdom since I didn't know who else should be in the top 5. But, I think this is a performance that is going to drop them into the middle teens for me. As for Texas Tech, I'll have to rank them. 5-1 with a couple quality victories and they can't be ignored for much longer.

They looked so potent on offense I never would have suspected them of failing to put up the numbers. Sadly, defense used to be a staple at WVU. They used to punch you in the mouth and take your lunch money.

WVU looked bad against Maryland who is not a worldbeater but plays better than Baylor on defense.

The Eers had not played anybody who played defense...They won a shoot out with Baylor by 7 and a shootout with Texas by 7...

That is right. Offense only teams are world beater until they hit a team that can play defense, then the high powered offense can't look at their own defense for help.

They got smacked in the mouth, and was told to like it. D needs to grow up tough games ahead O can't win every game unless the D gives help long year... :(

There are lots of us in that boat. It really sucks because the WVU offense is amazing.

I still think they are a great team, they were just not ready for this game. It happens (see Ga/USC)

I still say there is a chance they can win the Big 12, which is what I'm hoping anyways.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.
