Well, Cincy scored so quickly I didn't have time to blink. 31 - 31, less than a minute, UL has the ball with little time.

darn, overtime; and, neither team seems to be able to stop the other's offense regularly.

Geez, luck was on our side. 34 - 31 in overtime. First 8 - 0 start since 2006; and, only the 3rd 8 - 0 start in school history.

The 8 - 0 start before 2006 was something like 1926 (and we only played an 8 game season) when we went undefeated. Back in those days almost no one traveled much and probably some of those games were against local amateur teams such as the WMCA or some athletic club.

Definitely a good win. Cincinnati was in a mood to play "spoiler" to Louisville's season.

I was worried that after Cincinnati lost to Toledo they would be very ready to play, and they were. I thought we might not be fully ready; and, we were not. But, we got the breaks in the OT.

Our defense has been erratic this year, on, off who knows when they come out. Too soft on the short passes.

Our offense has been more consistent and when fully on it about unstoppable.

I've been relearning how to cross my fingers again in football.

Well, we beat hapless Temple 45-17. Improvement all around except stopping runs up the middle. Teddy Bridgewater continues to shine at QB and things went steadily until backup Will Stein was in for the last two series which went nowhere. Temple had trouble hanging on to the ball losing 5 assorted fumbles. UL only scored on 2 of them and ran the clock out on the last one.

Next is Syracuse at their place where Cincinnati just won.

9-0 for the first time in UL history. Still, the schedule is pretty weak.

all for now, Swamp Daddy

Good job...and Swamp Daddy, don't buy into that weak schedule nonsense. All that is, is an excuse to manipulate the pollling.

Donovan: I must agree those 'strength of schedule' manipulations are in part a bunch of BS; but, it is there and we all have to live with it.

One of those late season "moments of truth" will come up tomorrow when UL is on the road at Syracuse. Both teams rank very low in both the kicking games and in kick returns  . One wag suggested giving each team the ball on the 50 rather than bothering with the kickoffs.

Our big plus will be QB Teddy Bridgewater and a 4 deep talented receiving corp.

Well, I hardly know how to comment on this debacle. The defense has played from bad down to mediocre all year. They have had trouble with the run, trouble with the pass, you name it. Today they went downhill from mediocre to totally inept allowing 3rd down conversions on 10 or more long distances and making Syracuse look like a world beater.

So far this year, a sparkling offense has offset this. Today the offense played down to the level of the defense, about down to the mediocre level. The kicking game has been the same as all year. Fair catches on the 5 yard line, fumbles, no returns worth talking of.

Teddy B. did his best; but, the O-line wasn't much help allowing numerous hits and sacks. :x

I hope this is a BIG wakeup call for this team. We can still win the BE but we need these last two games for sure. YUK !.

Well, I guess all who viewed this team as a hollow shell playing a very weak schedule were quite close to the mark.

It is difficult to play at a high level all year...in every game...which is why there are few undefeated teams.

Syracuse has a knack for having one big game...last year they rose up and smacked WVU in the mouth with a display of physicality.
“If short hair and good manners won football games, Army and Navy would play for the national championship every year.”
