Letter of Intent Signings.

Postby donovan » Sat Dec 22, 2012 9:39 am

Signings, from Junior colleges have started to come in. Boise has picked up for so far and like every signing they sound like they should be playing for the NFL. There is one that caught my eye, Tyler Rausa. The reason is, for whatever the reason is, schools do not sign kickers. Most the kickers out there are walk-on, have to fight for scholarships. I never get it. Well Boise went and signed a kicker. Is he the greatest, who knows...but Petersen is trying to fill holes he does not want to have to deal with, that is for sure....with a kicker, this last year would have been way different, and it was not that bad.

"Rausa, who will join the Broncos as a sophomore, played for Riverside City College this last season after graduating from Vista Murrieta High School in Murrieta, Calif. The 5-10, 180-pound kicker converted 15-of-20 (.750) field goal attempts this past season with a long of 48 yards. He was also 52-of-53 on PATs.

Following his final prep campaign season, Rausa was named Los Angeles Times California Special Teams Most Valuable Player, and was named all-state, all-CIF, all-county, All-Southern Section and All-Southwestern League. The senior captain was also named MaxPreps All-American in leading his squad to the 2011 CIF Championship."

Ohio State has signed the last four kickers. Coaches are starting to realize that guy can make or break you.

In our society where we prepare the road for the kid, rather than the old days when we prepared the kid for the road...we should just widen the goal posts by about 20 feet on each side.....

Houston Nutt rarely had a kicker on scholarship...Petrino always had a punter and a place kicker on scholarship.

Ark signed 5 jr college players: 4 on defense and 1 offensive lineman. 2 of them are first team all-american selections at the jr college level this year.

Bielema has told a 4* RB, and a highly recruited QB out of Florida that he will not give them scholarships (they were verbal commits to the previous staff).
"A team with something to play for is dangerous, but a team with someone to play for is unstoppable..." Arkansas OL Brey Cook quote following the death of teammate Garrett Uekman (Nov. 2011).

 Indeed!!!
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.
