Re: OK... Notre Dame In Title Game
I thought Notre Dame would get beat bad, but I thought Notre Dame would at least move the ball in the first half. They aren't competitive at all.
Saban has his guys ready to play. They know what Notre Dame is going to do not long after Notre Dame knows. Notre Dame played a decent schedule. Not as good as people thought, but still good. They went 12-0. They deserved to be in the game. Sometimes, though, what you want and what you get are two very different things.People can complain about how much credit the SEC gets and they do. They were down this year. Still good not great, but Alabama is a team with unbelievable talent and a coach who knows what to do with it. They are a force.

Re: OK... Notre Dame In Title Game
Agreed. It's pretty dejecting. The rest of college football might as well take their toys and go home.
I picked Notre Dame because underdogs have fared pretty well in national title games. I felt that this was one of those games. But Alabama is too talented at this point in time. I don't know what Nick Saban does, but whatever it is, it works.
People are going to start saying Notre Dame didn't belong here. They highest point total they allowed all year was 26 against Pitt in triple OT. That was easily the most they allowed all season and Alabama scored 28 points in a half. They're the type of team that can get on an unstoppable roll like this and it's a black eye for Notre Dame, but they would be successful against almost any offense in the nation besides Bama, A&M, and probably Oregon. The Irish are going to great for years to come, but next season, the SEC is again going to be where it's all at. People clamoring for Oregon to be in this game don't know what they're talking about, because outside of Dion Jordan, their defensive line would be getting mauled even worse than Notre Dame's is. They'd have scored more points, but it would the same kind of laugher.
Look at these stats: Bama is 6-8 on 3rd down with 15 first downs, Notre Dame is 0-5 with 5 first downs. Bama has 309 yards at the half to ND's 124. Bama has 6.7 ypc compared to Notre Dame's 3.4. If Bama gets in this kind of stride, they are unstoppable. Lacy is too powerful of a runner and that line is too strong. T.J. Yeldon is going to be better than Ingram, Richardson, and Lacy as well.

Re: OK... Notre Dame In Title Game
The only team I have seen that I thought would have a shot at Alabama after having watched the bowls is the team that beat them - A&M. And I honestly don't think even Johnny football beats Saban in the bowl. I don't like Notre Dame, but they should have gotten their shot at the champ and they did. The fact they can't compete has to do with dominate lines more than skill players, but Kelly has no answers for his team. None.

Good to hear from you, bamagirl
Brent Musburger went on some Beyonce rant, similar to this one about AJ McCarron's girlfriend, a few years ago. Being 73 years old, I would keep those comments to myself I think

I just hope Saban doesn't get a soft heart, and call off the dogs . . .

That isn't generally something Saban does.
