Just a question, but do you think Illinois will do as much as others are predicting them to?

I think they will be much better then most people think. They have a pretty good defense and Williams should grow each year. He will make mistakes and they won't have as good a record as they probably should have, but I think it is possible for them to go bowling this year.

As usual I have to disagree with Spence. I think Illinois will still be bad. Indiana is my sleeper team in the Big 10. Indiana has 7 home games and no Michigan/Ohio State on the schedule. The offense should score lots of points. I think Indiana will fair better than Northwestern did last year because the players knew that Hoeppner was sick and Lynch has had head coaching experience. Walker's death surprised everybody and Fitzgerald is a young guy.

As far as Illinois goes, I not sure Zook is even a decent college coach. Juice Williams' completion percentage is too low, the offensive line gives up too many sacks, and the receivers either aren't very good or are inexperienced freshmen. I say Illinois only finishes ahead of Minnesota.

You could be right about Illinois. The offensive line's sacks, a lot of them, were due to Williams lack of experience. He did get a little better toward the end of the season, but your right, he has a ways to go. I would pick Illinois above both Minny and Indiana. Indiana has lots of problems. They have some talent, but no where near the talent as Illinois has on their team. Hoeppner was a better HC then Lynch. I think they miss him more then you think. Hoeppner had his team playing with confidence not indicative of their record. They were dangerous under him. I don't think they will be as dangerous without him. They are just snakebit.

I think Illinois will be 2-6 in Big 10 play and I've also got them losing to Syracuse and Ball State.

Juice can't throw, 39.5% completion rate  That's not even in Reggie Ball-range

I think Williams will be better then you think. He was a true freshman last year. Reggie Ball was a senior. Hard to make that comparison.
