Texas is justr surprising. Nothing really pointed to the fall. Recruiting was good, no coaches changes. I don't get it.

I get that. Just not why there wasn't a backup plan. Texas isn't just bad because of the QB. They have problems everywhere. I can see falling to where you go to a secondary bowl, but to fall off the grid in one season?

Shands...re "slick surface"...it was dry natural grass. Urban said that his guys bit on the double move and got hurt long. Although they had practiced against it, he said you have to move up on the receiver with Ponder throwing and the pumps and double moves hurt them.

The wheels may not be coming off for UF, but the lug nuts are loose.

D-Line....The gators just had Pagan back out of his committment and he was a heralded DT (a need for the program). Losing Pagan was possibly the worst commitment they could lose. Not because he was one of their top 3 rated recruits, but because he is a playmaker at what is probably uf's biggest position of need. It all starts on the line, whether you're talking about offense or defense. UF has a small amount of returning players, with even fewer being proven players on the DL. Losing both of your starting DE's hurts (Lemmens and Trattou). They must bring in players at DT and DE, but with it being this late in the year, will they be able to bring in quality players, or will they have to settle on project players and hope they develop?

O-Line: Their OL has struggled this year, and will be losing one of their starting tackles, guards and a center along with one of their backup tackles and guards. UF needs an immediate infusion or their O line will be much the same next year as it was for this season.

Quarterback: They need an answer, and I don't think it's currently on the roster. .

Overall Player Losses: Moody is gone at RB. Moore and Williams at WR. Marsh at DT. Jones, Edwards, and Hicks all gone at LB. Janoris Jenkins is probably gone at CB. Black at safety is a big loss, and Will Hill might jet with the rest of them. This is a lot of guys to lose.

They lose these seniors:

Starters

Ahmad Black Safety
Duke Lemmons DE
Justin Trattou DE
Carl Moore WR
Marcus Gilbert OT
Carl Johnson OG
Mike Pouncey C
Lawrence Marsh DT
AJ Jones LB
Brandon Hicks LB
Chas Henry-Punter

Other seniors

Lorenzo Edwards LB-
Justin Williams WR
Emmanuel Moody RB
Maurice Hurt OL
Brandon Antwine-DT
Terron Sanders-DT

Potential Early Entry to NFL Draft:

Janoris Jenkins-DB-likely
Will Hill Safety-50/50
Chris Rainey RB/WR-draft?

Coaching....Myers hasn't been himself, the OC is as good as gone (although Noles want him to stay), Dan McCarney just split for the North texas job (and Urban said that he was unaware????)

And...I do have to remind folks that my opinion is that of a Nole... And that may color my opinion somewhat.

Huh? The gators play on natural grass at home. Hadn't rained in a week. I wonder? But the field appeared soft. Wrong cleats?

I did rewatch the Nole hilights and their were some gator slips..not near as many FSU slips.
