That is correct. The SEC has earlier conference games and schedules one OOC season game late in the year.

Right. That was a sad week to be a college football fan. I don't care that the SEC schedules these teams and I wasn't "calling them out" for doing so. I just thought it was odd that they were all playing FCS schools.

I think it is a smart by the SEC commish. When most everyone else is playing cream puffs, they are being lauded for playing a tough game (even if it is a conference game they are going to play at some point anyway. Then now when everyone is paying attention to the BCS and other things they get their cream puff and no one really notices. --------------except Eric.

Not sure if that is why, but I think it would make sense to have a cream puff scheduled early in the season, but then one late in the season to hopefully rest some players and heal some injuries. Arkansas travels to South Carolina this week, but then plays UTEP next week for their rest and relaxation. Then will play Miss St and LSU to finish the season.

Yes, it allows a couple weeks to get heathly late in the season as well. I do think playing a conference game when many are playing intra conference games gives the illuision that those teams are scheduling good OOC opponents, then late in the season when they play that cream puff it isn't as glaring. Not all SEC teams are set up that way. Florida and Georgia have good OOC game late, but most do not. That isn't saying that their OOC is weaker than anyone elses. The SEC plays the same kinds of OOC games as most other conferences. 1 pretty good team and 3 not so good teams. It just changes the focus a little and gets them more TV exposure when the competition isn't as strong. I would much rather see Georgia play South Carolina than watch Ohio State and Eastern Michigan. So would most people. Pretty good all around move by the SEC commish.
