Yes, it allows a couple weeks to get heathly late in the season as well. I do think playing a conference game when many are playing intra conference games gives the illuision that those teams are scheduling good OOC opponents, then late in the season when they play that cream puff it isn't as glaring. Not all SEC teams are set up that way. Florida and Georgia have good OOC game late, but most do not. That isn't saying that their OOC is weaker than anyone elses. The SEC plays the same kinds of OOC games as most other conferences. 1 pretty good team and 3 not so good teams. It just changes the focus a little and gets them more TV exposure when the competition isn't as strong. I would much rather see Georgia play South Carolina than watch Ohio State and Eastern Michigan. So would most people. Pretty good all around move by the SEC commish.
