Re: Coaching Updates 2021

We have become the Coaching Temp Service for College Football ...
Now, Bryan McClendon has left the Co-Offensive Coordinator Position at Miami, for the WR Position at UGA.
And like Travaris Robinson, McClendon is a recruiting dynamo.
These setbacks are not good going forward, as the Miami staff is variably not in place, with National Signing Day looming.
Rumors have been circulating, that the reason Miami has yet to announce an OC & DC to the staff, is because those being sought by Cristobal may be still on nfl staff, who have completed their season [the implications are obvious, here].
Not sure I prescribe to that theory. However, whatever the case may be, Mario needs to move forward, soon.
We cannot stay in limbo like this. Right now, the list of names on our coaching staff is only getting shorter.
And 2 of our our best recruiters have left for Alabama & Georgia.

Things are an absolute mess in College Football…….. instability abounds in every aspect, it’s absolute chaos.
I want to thank the NCAA, the National Labor Relations Board, the Supreme Court of the United States of America, ‘The Mouse’, the Conference Commissioners and a special thanks and Tip of the Hat to the self serving and greedy administrations of our Colleges and Universities.
………..and to tell you the truth, I’m disgusted with the whole d-a-m-n thing, and after years of being a Season Ticket holder, it’s doubtful I renew this coming season, it’s just not fun anymore.

An example of where the game is…….

And thus, the rumors turned out to be true ...
Harbaugh was keeping his options for the nfl open.
Jim Harbaugh has accepted the Head Coaching position for the Minnesota Vikings.
Where does Blue turn, now ..?

Miami hires Kevin Steele as the new Defensive Coordinator ...
I'm not sure how I feel about the selection. He has experience, previously coaching at Tennessee & Auburn.
I guess we'll see going forward.

I was watching and keeping up with the goings on with Harbaugh just out of curiosity…… of course I have no idea, but it appeared to me with all the early chatter about him jumping ship at Michigan that he was looking for a counteroffer from Michigan. Especially after they cut his salary and he got the Wolverines into the CFP. I suppose the guys in Ann Arbor decided it would be best if they just said, ‘Good luck Jimmy, we wish you well.’

I just saw where Harbaugh changed his mind and is staying at Michigan………. Sources close to the negotiations say that Harbaugh told his agent that the decision to stay was reached after someone reminded him that if he did indeed leave for the Viking job that he would no longer be able to annoy the hell outta Spence.

I think maybe that the flight wasn't far enough west for him ...
The I's were all dotted before he got on the plane. But I suppose there is one "I" he wanted to smear the dot off from.
The job was his, and it wasn't even being labeled an interview. More like a landing arrival, and walk through.
Maybe he figured, "darn, if it's gonna be this cold, I could just stay home where I am."
Whatever the case, at least Michigan won't have to scramble to get in a replacement before spring camp.

Very well could be……. Maybe Ole Jimmy had sunshine in mind with this effort to rebuild the PAC12 underway, but something derailed the effort because this article says……

Ryan Day is thrilled to death about Harbaugh coming back. Gattis may not be.

Odd, since the Wolverine publications all had him offered the job, stating that his visit to Minnesota "Was not an interview", and that it was just a formality.
Also, I notice in this SI article, they proclaim that "Harbaugh will now return to college football, where he will look to bring Michigan to the College Football Playoff for the second straight year."
Which seems a bit strange in wording, if he didn't actually get the offer to be the Vikings coach. Then he never actually left College Football, or Michigan. So, how is he returning to?
Oof ...
Maybe just poor editing.
Or, maybe they simply do not have a clue.
Either way, it seems that Harbaugh will be the name to replace Cristobal, in the Triad of Media Puppets' go to coaching names of interest.
Remembering the article posted by Mountainman about the Coaches Federation granting premium access [maybe that should be Axis] to their hand selected journo'o'choice collective:
The guidelines also impact how coaching changes will be announced. “There is so much misinformation that gets out there,” said Hightower. Under the new guidelines, all coaching change announcements will be divided equally among Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, Brett McMurphy of ESPN and Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports.
(Thamel, McMurphy and Dodd have all agreed that the names of Cincinnati coach Luke Fickell, Iowa State coach Matt Campbell and Oregon coach Mario Cristobal shall be included in any speculative stories about coaching vacancies.)
Fickle & Campbell are still available for speculative purposes.
But Cristobal was not a mere rumor, and had been taken out of their coffers early.
However, now that Harbaugh had his people talking to someone else's people, he would be a nice replacement for the aforementioned cabal initiates, in lieu of Mario.

Re: Coaching Updates 2021
My grandparents lived on a farm, and when I was a boy I spent a month or so with them in the summertime. Fields of corn and buckwheat along with sheep grazing on the hillsides and cattle grazing in the bottoms……… when walking in the bottoms amongst the grazing cattle, one learns quickly to recognize B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T when you see it, before you step in it, and when you read it.

That’s some crystal ball you’ve got there…… guess who’s going to end up in the ‘sunshine’???

Or, is that?
"some Cristobal you've got there"
Gattis was hired as Miami to be the next Offensive Coordinator.
Again, I'm not sure where I fall on my enthusiasm.
We'll see, is all I can come up with.

Not sure it took much of a crystal ball to see Gattis leave when Harbaugh came back. Michigan had done everything but announce Gattis when Harbaugh left to do a second interview with Minnesota. He couldn't have been happy on the about face.
