Spence, love your diligence! I think the flip floppers completely validated our entire argument that voters are inconsistent.
As I overheard at a bar the other day..."Thank God the BCS finally found a way for an SEC team to lose in the National Championship Game."
And the BCS also gave us the best thread I've read on here in a while.

Thanks, man. Nice to see you posting again.
I believe what I believe until I change my mind.
I don't think two teams from the same conference should be in the NCG unless they did have a playoff system in place. I don't like playoffs for football because I don't think one could be managed like basketball and work fairly and I don't think they should do it wrong just to do something. I liked the BCS format when it first came out, but it has been tinkered with until it is just an awful corrupt system. The amount of manipulation in the polls is evident to anyone willing to look at it, but the people who manipulate it don't get in trouble so they don't care. This isn't about any of the schools. Alabama and LSU have done nothing wrong and any other two schools would play if they were picked. It is about the corruption involved.

My favorite new one this season was "Do they pass the eyeball test?" Herbstreit code for "I get all excited when this team reminds me of Pete Carrol's Trojans."

Yeah, we all make judgements using the eyeball test. Sometimes the eyeballs don't know what they are seeing. Team a who is number 1 might beat the number five team by thirty. Does that mean number one is really, really good or is it that number 5 should be 20 and number one should be 10? I base my opinions on what I see, but I don't get to stop film, time how fast the tackle can come off the line, how fast the defensive lineman can shed his block, or lots of other things a coach can use while breaking down a team. If you can exploit even one portion of an offense and they can't adjust, you can make them look really bad. Some with an offense. If a QB or back can find one little thing they can exploit, they can really make a team look bad until they can make an adjustment, if they can make an adjustment.

Update: I still will not be watching the NCG.

They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.
The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.
See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

I am sure you will be missed, and way to show them.

The problem is, I'm not the only one.
Alabama should not be there. Whether I make a difference or not, is irrelevant.

My guess is the game will have the highest ratings of any bowl game, and possibly the highest ever. I don't think there are many people that will not watch, because it happens to be a rematch. I would rather have seen LSU vs Okie St, but will definitely still watch.
Oh, and I think Arkansas should have been in the Capital One bowl vs Nebraska, but I will still watch the South Carolina vs Nebraska matchup.

Most football fans will watch.

Most fans will watch....but in the big bowls,,,New Years Day bowls, Super Bowl..etc...the vast majority of watcher are not football fans. Many just like the spirit hoop de la of it all. And sounds reasonable to me.

I'll be watching in 3D! Then, I'll get a headache, and be in bed before halftime.
Re: Coaches Poll...who had OK State as #4 or more
Yeo...is it going to be broadcast in 3d? Or are you upconverting 2d?
The passive technology 3d will probably cause you less headaches than the active, shutter driven 3d.
My interest? New TV and I haven't tried 3d yet.

I don't suppose anyone cares about my 18" Black and White TV...hoping for new rabbit ears for Christmas.

I still have a 32" RCA TV with a picture tube in my bedroom. It was state of the art when I got it back in the late 80's or early 90's.
