Texas vs Arkansas

Postby Yeofoot » Mon Dec 29, 2014 4:23 pm

So far, I've only had one idiot try to run me off the road today! Yup, flying the Horns up here in NWA.

Texas and Arkansas have comparable runningback tandems. Arkansas has the better offensive line. Texas has the better defensive line. Both teams need to run to pass. I presumed Arkansas was going to win...then Bielema did his best Bielema impersonation and threw the Horns Down during a photo opp with Charlie Strong. Arkansas prides itself on Classiness...Nutt, Petrino, and now Bielema. I'd be humiliated if I was an Arkansas fan...but of course, they're proud.

I have Texas by 21 now.

I'm looking forward to this game.

I know Doss is getting ready to call the Hogs. What is the Longhorn tradition?

I have Ark by 7.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Ahh....then I'm sure I will be wrong. 8)

Or does that only happen when Ga plays?...not sure.

Yep, someone (a Line-Backer Texas a, Line ... Backer) needs to spy that left side O-line .

Ark is looking very confident in this one.

That was just silly ... Texas needs to leave those mistakes in the locker room .

An athletic guy who is 6'10" is almost guaranteed millions in the NBA. You wonder why he is playing football.

Arkansas' D is just casting aside the Long Horns' offensive front.
Texas simply doesn't have the athletes to compete.

Well, had a blast at the game. Arkansas' defense was impressive again.

With 4 minutes left in the game Texas had 29 total yards of offense. They finished with 59 total yards because of their last drive.

Hogs defense impressed the second half of the season shutting out Ole Miss and LSU, holding Bama to 14, and Texas to 7.

Texas online was manhandled the entire game, their running backs looked a step slow, and their QB was not good. Texas fans around me were giving their QB a hard time all game.

The 6'10" lineman is Dan Skipper. He is mean and nasty when he plays. He has trouble with smaller quick defensive ends (like a Missouri has). Tends to get beat around the edge in those cases. Had a couple huge penalties called against him this year. Biggest one was a tripping call that would have put Ark up by 21 in 4th quarter vs A&M. Kid can play though.

Nice win for Hogs and looking forward to next season!

In hotel room now and headed to bed...back to Arkansas tomorrow. Good night all.
"A team with something to play for is dangerous, but a team with someone to play for is unstoppable..." Arkansas OL Brey Cook quote following the death of teammate Garrett Uekman (Nov. 2011).

325 isn't that far out of the range for 6'10". Probaby 20-25lbs off. I would think basketball conditioning would take car of that.

That game was a physical mismatch....as was the Okahoma-Clemson game.

Neither Big 12 team was ever in the game...they looked a few steps slower. Sort of like a guy on a fat tire single speed beach cruiser racing a skinny tired 24 speed Tour de France bike.

Doss, that is the kind of game you want to see when your team wins, for sure...not so much if you are on the other end of the stick. Nice win.
